To mark Patagonia's 50th year, we’re looking forward to life on Earth, not back. Join us at Patagonia Toronto to celebrate World's Ocean Day with a screening of Chasing Coral, a production of Exposure Labs, and a panel discussion with experts in the field.Â
Â
Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate. We need to defend the future of the ocean—because if we don’t do it, nobody will. We need to protect the waters that have always nurtured us.Â
Â
In Chasing Coral, a team of divers, photographers, and scientists set out on a thrilling ocean adventure to discover why and to reveal the underwater mystery to the world.Â
When:Â Thursday, June 8, 2023
Where: Patagonia Toronto, 500 King Street WestÂ
Time: 7 PM - 10 PM
Proceeds from our "Enter to Win" will be shared with Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction and Coral Reef Conservation at Wildlife Conservation Society.Â

Eden is a first gen everything (high school, university, PhD graduate, immigrant), non-binary, and neurodiverse. Their first languages are math, stats, feeling, and fashion. They are quantitative ecologist studying transdisciplinary problems in biodiversity and human diversity. Eager to apply evolutionary theory, bifurcation theory, and sampling theory to anything. They are an advocate for establishing a safe space in science, a place for novel ideas and critical disagreements, where love is a guiding principle no matter where we came from and where we want to go.
Dr. Emily Darling is a coral reef scientist and Director of Coral Reef Conservation at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). As a field biologist and scientific diver, she has published 60+ publications in leading scientific journals, including Science, Nature, Ecology Letters, and Conservation Letters and received international awards for her research and science communication. Emily’s research investigates how tropical coral reefs are changing in the face of our climate crisis and the role of climate refuges as a critical blueprint for global conservation.Â
Ocean Week Canada is an annual national celebration of ocean events, learning, and engagement. The Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition coordinates a multi-partner,
collaborative program of national events and activities held during the week of World Ocean Day. Community-scale events taking place across the country are also amplified and supported through the Ocean
Week Canada website and the network of partner communications. They work together, from coast to coast to coast, to engage Canadians in ocean learning, celebration, and action. We recognize the important role the ocean plays in our everyday lives and the lives of future generations.
